an update to another update. i'm just playing with the POV. it could be better if it had furniture inside the house. i'll work on that but for now here's looking at it from the deck.

reflection
this scene has long been waiting for me to render it. i don't even know where i got the inspiration for this. it is an actual house. i hope i can remember where i got this. email me if you know the project's name or post a comment below.
as always, it is modeled in sketchup and rendered in 3dsmax mental ray. unfinished but i posted anyway. i was just playing around-refreshing my rendering. :)

Exterior Archiviz - part deux
Finally finished this good old scene. The results are much much better that the first time it was rendered. Changed the POV, the lighting and added some new colors to make it feel livelier than the previous one.
It took only 20 minutes to render this at the original render resolution of 1125x1800 pixels with default FG.
This is the post-processed look. Same look and adjustments like my two recent posts.

In Between
Something that's kept me out of the Irradiance Particle testing-learning-testing-learning-thingamajig. This is also posted at http://www.cgpinoy.org.
The background clouds were not post-processed but plugged into the mr skylight haze slot (like in zap's post).

wip_exterior
I've been around the net looking to challenge myself for something new to render. I've noticed that I haven't posted any exterior renders except for one that I never really got to finish.
I have stumbled upon this very nice looking house at http://www.trendir.com. It's called Crockett Residence. Designed by Elemental Design. (Please do not sue me. I do not claim ownership of the design and of the house. If I violate any laws please contact me immediately. )
Modeled this from scratch in Sketchup. Here are some study renders.
You can find the image I tried to emulate at the http://www.pbelemental.com.

Exterior ArchiViz
This is my first go at an exterior architectural rendering. It's a work-in-progress. This was started months back when work was not "getting in the way" of learning 3dsmax and mental ray. And then work at the office started to pick up. So I had to finish as much as I can before work really gets in the way. I can't seem to get a good POV at first but I decided to render it anyway. This was modeled in Sketchup and exported to 3dsmax.

These renders are just lighting test of mr sun &sky as well as finding a good point of view.

I'm still not satisfied with this half-done output. It still needs a lot of work but I'm glad it turned out well.
Side note: The design was done by a good architect friend. Thanks Mervin for letting me use this. I'll improve it when work don't get in the way of learning this wonderful new craft. :)
